I know this is more of a "visibility" light, but I have used two of them on a trail at night. I wouldn't recommend it for extreme darkness though. I like the easy on/off functionality, and that I can replace the batteries. I wish the LED color wasn't quite so blue, as an amber/non-led light seems to illuminate better. Kudos for fantastic customer service, nevertheless, nothing could have stopped both of these lights from failing. The Toad looks good out of the packaging (granted the white is difficult to keep white), attaches well to handle bars or fork for me, and when the light is on and batteries good, shines bright. I got perhaps 100 miles of use out of each light, and that was spotty use. There was no abuse or accidents involved here, just standard bike light use. I suspect something is fundamentally wrong with the circuitry, or the darned things are just fickle, but it depends on the day whether they'll actually decide to turn on or not, and at the moment one is dead and the other only shines when my finger is depressing the on button. I'm debating whether to bother Knog again with this issue because I'm not sure I want another... Read more |
